The AIU Online Associate of Arts in Business Administration degree features a concentration in Criminal Justice Administration. This degree program combines the real-world business skills taught in our university's AABA degree program and applies them to specific knowledge of the field of criminal justice.

Students will be taught to apply management techniques in criminal justice organizations and security situations. They will also learn to solve administrative problems and articulate the functions of each component of the criminal justice system: law enforcement, the courts system and corrections.

Students who complete the AABA in Criminal Justice Administration will have acquired an up-to-date knowledge that can prepare them to pursue interesting jobs such as campus security coordinator, county clerk, social and human services assistant, security dispatcher, peace officer trainee and many other in-demand professions.

Courses required to complete the AABA in Criminal Justice Administration include:

• Introduction to Criminal Justice. This course provides an overview of crime, law and justice. Students will be challenged to understand aspects and functions of policing, pretrial procedures and the trial process, sentencing procedures and various aspects of correctional treatment methods.
• Administration of Criminal Justice. This class focuses on administration, supervision and management functions as they pertain to the criminal justice industry. Students will also learn about concepts in strategic and operational planning, such as personnel and asset needs and deployment strategies.
• Technology in Criminal Justice Administration. In this course, students learn about the use of computers to aid criminal justice administration. In addition to practicing basic computer and IT skills, study is focused on the integration of technology throughout the criminal justice system, with a specific concentration at the operational level.
