Our human services PhD program meets the high academic standards of doctoral study and provides a platform for rewarding personal accomplishment. Throughout the program, you will explore and utilize advanced theory and research, critical thinking and principles of leadership which you can apply immediately in your personal and professional life. The counseling studies specialization is designed for human services professionals who want to gain advanced academic and research competencies. This online PhD specialization is ideal for counseling professionals and others seeking leadership positions in educational, consulting, agency, institutional and public or private human services settings. You may be eligible for transfer credit of up to 48 credits. Residency Requirements: As a doctoral learner you will attend residential colloquia in addition to your online courses. Taken during specific milestones in your program, you will attend three colloquia, each one week in length. Note: This program is not designed to meet professional counseling licensure requirements  About Capella UniversityAdmissions requirements vary by program and specialization. International applicants residing outside the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands are not eligible for acceptance into programs requiring supervised clinical internships or practical within the Schools of Human Services and Psychology. Capella participates in several federal financial aid programs including the Federal Pell Grant Program and Federal Stafford Loan Program. Capella is also eligible to certify Veterans Educational Benefits and can provide information on other non-federal loan programs. |
