Our online PhD program offers advanced academic studies focusing on research and scholarship in a particular discipline. This program will help prepare you to apply psychological principles in several areas, including teaching, administration, research, consulting, coaching, management or leadership. The PhD specialization in industrial/organizational psychology is designed for learners interested in workplace and organizational behavior. You will gain in-depth knowledge of leadership issues, group development, organizational change strategies, motivational and performance enhancement, and human resources management. Doctoral graduates typically pursue positions as independent consultants, coaches to senior management, university instructors and other leadership positions in business, government and higher education. Residency Requirements: As a doctoral learner you will attend residential colloquia in addition to your online courses. Taken during specific milestones in your program, you will attend three colloquia, each one week in length. NOTE: These degree requirements are not designed for licensure as a professional psychologist.  About Capella UniversityAdmissions requirements vary by program and specialization. International applicants residing outside the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands are not eligible for acceptance into programs requiring supervised clinical internships or practical within the Schools of Human Services and Psychology.
