The University of Cincinnati Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (BS HIM) distance learning program is designed to improve your knowledge and skills for continued professional growth. Our health information management instructors are professionals possessing the expertise and experience vital to enhance your learning. As part of this program, you have 7 levels of academic, technical and administrative support. With these unprecedented levels of support, you can complete the program through distance learning while continuing to take care of your work, family and personal responsibilities. The BS HIM online program is designed for the working professional, and schedules courses sequentially in a prescribed plan that keeps you on pace to complete your degree in 2 1/4 years. You are assigned to a small group led by an HIM instructor who provides academic guidance and professional preparation. Each week you interact with your instructor and fellow students through a variety of online communication tools such as message boards, chat sessions and e-mail. Graduates will be eligible for (and prepared to sit for) the Registered Health Information Administrators (RHIA) certification exam.
